Same artist as the previously described New Order — different Discogs/setlist.fm spelling variant. English rock band formed in Salford in 1980 from the surviving members of Joy Division after Ian Curtis's suicide. Lineup: Bernard Sumner (vocals/guitar/keyboards), Peter Hook (bass), Stephen Morris (drums), and Gillian Gilbert (keyboards/guitar, 1980-2001, 2011-present).

Ten studio albums starting with Movement (1981). Commercial peak: Power, Corruption & Lies (1983), Low-Life (1985), and Technique (1989, a #1 album in the UK). The 1983 single "Blue Monday" remains the best-selling 12" single in history. Hook departed in 2007; legal disputes over the band's name extended into the 2010s. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024.
