American soul/Americana band formed in Denver, Colorado in 2013. Lineup: Nathaniel Rateliff (vocals/guitar, b. October 7, 1978, Missouri), Joseph Pope III (bass), Mark Shusterman (keyboards), Patrick Meese (drums), Luke Mossman (guitar), and a horn section. Distinguished by their throwback Stax/Memphis-soul instrumentation paired with Rateliff's gritty, gospel-influenced vocals.
Four studio albums between Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats (2015, featuring the breakout "S.O.B.") and South of Here (2024). Subsequent peaks: Tearing at the Seams (2018) and The Future (2021). Rateliff also continues to release introspective folk material as a solo artist (And It's Still Alright, 2020).
