Motörhead

English rock band formed in London in 1975 by Lemmy Kilmister (vocals/bass, died 2015). The classic lineup of Lemmy with Fast Eddie Clarke (guitar, 1976-1982) and Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor (drums, 1975-1984, 1987-1992) defined the band's primary 1979-1981 commercial peak. Influential on both heavy metal and hardcore punk.

Twenty-two studio albums between Motörhead (1977) and Bad Magic (2015). Critical peaks include Overkill (1979), Bomber (1979), and Ace of Spades (1980). Lemmy died of cancer in December 2015 days after his 70th birthday; the band has been formally dissolved since.
