German-French R&B duo formed in Munich in 1988. Lineup: Fab Morvan (b. 1966) and Rob Pilatus (1965-1998), neither of whom actually sang on the recordings credited to them. The actual vocals were performed by uncredited session singers John Davis, Brad Howell, and Charles Shaw.
Released All or Nothing (1988, retitled Girl You Know It's True for the US market). Won the 1990 Grammy for Best New Artist, which was revoked later that year after the lip-sync deception was revealed — the only Grammy ever rescinded. Pilatus died of a drug overdose in 1998 at age 32.
