American rapper born Andrew Robert Nielsen on August 6, 1982, in Berkeley, California. Pioneer of the "post-punk laptop rap" or "lit-hop" genre, fusing hip-hop with pop-punk and emo influences and literary references (frequent songs about Edgar Allan Poe, Hemingway, Hamlet, etc.).
Released over a dozen studio albums starting with The Laptop EP (2004). Best-known tracks include "Download This Song" (2006) and "This Gigantic Robot Kills" (2009, featuring MC Frontalot). Tours extensively on the Warped Tour circuit and college campuses.
