American singer born March 6, 1944, in Greenville, Mississippi; died February 8, 2021. Co-founding member of the Supremes (1959-1977), the longest-tenured member alongside Diana Ross and Florence Ballard.
Released solo albums including Mary Wilson (1979, Motown) and Walk the Line (1992). Co-authored the bestselling memoirs Dreamgirl: My Life as a Supreme (1986) and Supreme Faith (1990). Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Supremes in 1988. Died at age 76 of hypertensive atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
