American singer-songwriter born July 5, 1959, in Cleveland, Ohio. Best known for the Grammy-winning "Walking in Memphis" (1991).
Released six studio albums between Marc Cohn (1991) and Careful What You Dream: Lost Songs and Rarities (2017). "Walking in Memphis" earned Cohn the 1992 Grammy for Best New Artist. Survived a 2005 attempted carjacking in Denver in which he was shot in the head; he made a full recovery and resumed touring.
