Big band led by American jazz drummer Luigi Paulino Alfredo Francesco Antonio Balassoni, known professionally as Louie Bellson (1924-2009). Distinguished by being among the first to feature the double bass drum kit and by Bellson's role as composer of works including "Skin Deep" (1952) and "The Hawk Talks" (1951).

Bellson led various big-band formations under his own name throughout his career while also playing in the orchestras of Duke Ellington, Tommy Dorsey, and Harry James. Multiple Grammy nominations across his catalog.
