American rock band formed in East Los Angeles in 1973. Long-running lineup: David Hidalgo (vocals/guitar/accordion), Cesar Rosas (vocals/guitar), Conrad Lozano (bass), Louie Pérez (drums/guitar), and Steve Berlin (saxophone/keyboards, since 1984). Distinguished by their fluent integration of Tex-Mex, traditional Mexican music, Tejano, blues, country, and rock.
