American singer, bassist, and composer born Charles Frederick Kip Winger on June 21, 1961, in Denver, Colorado. Co-founding member, lead vocalist, bassist, and primary songwriter for Winger (1987-present). Distinguished by formal classical training and his current dual career as a contemporary classical composer.
Released three solo albums between This Conversation Seems Like a Dream (1997) and Songs from the Ocean Floor (2014). Composed Conversations With Nijinsky (2016) and C. F. Kip Winger: Ghosts (2024) for the San Francisco Ballet and other classical ensembles, receiving a 2017 Grammy nomination for the former.
