American rock band formed in San Francisco in 1973. Long-running classic lineup: Steve Perry (vocals, 1977-1987, 1995-1998), Neal Schon (guitar, since formation), Jonathan Cain (keyboards, since 1980), Ross Valory (bass, 1973-2020), and various drummers. Arnel Pineda has been the band's primary vocalist since 2007.
Fifteen studio albums starting with Journey (1975). Commercial peak: Escape (1981, featuring "Don't Stop Believin'") and Frontiers (1983). "Don't Stop Believin'" later became the best-selling digital track from the 20th century after a memorable use in the 2007 Sopranos finale. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.
