American singer-songwriter born July 8, 1962, in Anchorage, Kentucky. Blue-eyed-soul-influenced vocalist whose major-label debut Relish (1995) sold over four million copies in the US and featured the Grammy-nominated single "One of Us."
Released nine studio albums between Relish and Trouble and Strife (2020), including the Dylan-cover album Songs of Bob Dylan (2017). Toured with the surviving members of the Grateful Dead as part of the Dead in 2003. Continues to record and tour.
