American guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter born March 18, 1966, in Tacoma, Washington. Co-founding member, lead guitarist, and primary songwriter for Alice in Chains (1987-present). Distinguished by his sludgy, harmonized riffing and his vocal harmonies with the late Layne Staley.
Released four solo albums alongside his Alice in Chains work: Boggy Depot (1998), Degradation Trip (2002), Brighten (2021), and I Want Blood (2024). His solo work draws on classic rock and country influences less prominent in Alice in Chains material.
