American rock band formed in Nashville in 1981. Lineup: Jason Ringenberg (vocals), Warner E. Hodges (guitar), Jeff Johnson (bass), and Perry Baggs (drums, died 2012). Foundational to the "cowpunk" subgenre that fused traditional country with punk rock; influence acknowledged by subsequent acts including Drive-By Truckers and Old 97's.
Seven studio albums between Fervor (1983) and Halcyon Times (2010). Best-known releases include Lost & Found (1985) and Still Standing (1986). Released primarily on EMI America and Mammoth. The band has reunited multiple times since.
