English musician born John Howard Jones on February 23, 1955, in Southampton. Distinguished by his exclusively keyboard-based one-man-band performances during his early 1980s commercial peak — his solo synthesizer setup and mime performer Jed Hoile defined the visual presentation.
Released 13 studio albums between Human's Lib (1984) and Dialogue (2022). Commercial peak: Human's Lib (1984, featuring "New Song" and "What Is Love?") and Dream into Action (1985, featuring "Things Can Only Get Better"). Continues to tour with various ensembles.
