American-Irish heavy metal supergroup formed in 2006 as a touring vehicle for the Dio-era Black Sabbath lineup: Ronnie James Dio (vocals, died 2010), Tony Iommi (guitar), Geezer Butler (bass), and Vinny Appice (drums). The name was chosen to distinguish the touring project from the Ozzy-fronted Black Sabbath reunions and from the band's classic-era Heaven and Hell (1980) album.
Released one studio album: The Devil You Know (2009), which debuted at #8 on the Billboard 200. Dio died of stomach cancer in May 2010 at age 67, ending the project. The remaining members have not performed under the Heaven & Hell name since.
