British-American funk band formed in West Germany in 1975 by American servicemen brothers Johnnie and Keith Wilder (vocals). Long-running lineup also included Rod Temperton (keyboards/songwriter, died 2016), Jesse Whitten (guitar, died 1977), and Mario Mantese (bass). The band's name reflects its multinational origins — members hailed from the US, the UK, Switzerland, Czechoslovakia, Jamaica, and Spain.

Six studio albums between Too Hot to Handle (1976) and The Fire (1988). Commercial peak: Too Hot to Handle (featuring "Boogie Nights") and Central Heating (1977, featuring "Always and Forever"). Rod Temperton departed to write for Michael Jackson (notably "Off the Wall," "Rock with You," and "Thriller").
