1985-1986 metal charity-record project organized by Ronnie James Dio (Dio, Black Sabbath) to raise funds for African famine relief. Modeled on the broader "We Are the World" / "Do They Know It's Christmas?" charity efforts of the same era.
Released a single, "Stars," featuring vocals and solos from over 40 metal-genre musicians including members of Dio, Iron Maiden, Quiet Riot, Twisted Sister, Mötley Crüe, Judas Priest, Spinal Tap, and Yngwie Malmsteen. Released by Mercury Records in 1986.
