American rap rock band formed in Huntington Beach, California in 1994 by vocalist Jared Gomes (Paulie). The name stands for "Hed Planetary Evolution." Long-running lineup typically includes Gomes plus rotating contributors.

Twelve studio albums including the self-titled debut (1997), Broke (2000), and Blackout (2003). The band's punk-rap-metal hybrid was contemporary with Korn, Limp Bizkit, and Deftones. Released primarily on Jive in the late 1990s and on Suburban Noize from the mid-2000s onward.
