American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1985. Classic lineup: Axl Rose (vocals), Slash (guitar), Izzy Stradlin (rhythm guitar, 1985-1991), Duff McKagan (bass), and Steven Adler (drums, 1985-1990, replaced by Matt Sorum). One of the most commercially successful rock bands in history, with estimated worldwide sales over 100 million units.
