American punk rock band formed in Santa Cruz, California in 1986. Long-running lineup: Russ Rankin (vocals), Luke Pabich (guitar), Sean Sellers (drums), and various bassists. Style draws on melodic hardcore and political punk.
Nine studio albums starting with For God and Country (1995). Best-known releases include A Comprehensive Guide to Moderne Rebellion (1996), Operation Phoenix (1999), and Symptoms of a Leveling Spirit (2001). Released primarily on Fat Wreck Chords. The band has been continuously active despite a 2007-2012 hiatus.
