American rock band formed in Lawrence, Massachusetts in 1995. Long-running lineup: Sully Erna (vocals), Tony Rombola (guitar), Robbie Merrill (bass), and Shannon Larkin (drums, since 2002, replacing Tommy Stewart). Distinguished by their direct, riff-heavy hard rock approach and Erna's tribal-drumming centerpiece in live performances.
