American funk collective led by George Clinton (born July 22, 1941, in Kannapolis, North Carolina). The P-Funk All Stars consolidates members of Clinton's earlier bands — Parliament, Funkadelic, the Brides of Funkenstein, and others — into a single performing entity.
Released multiple studio albums starting with Urban Dancefloor Guerillas (1983). Clinton's broader Parliament-Funkadelic catalog has been a foundational influence on hip-hop sampling, with songs from "Atomic Dog" to "Mothership Connection" appearing in countless productions. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of Parliament-Funkadelic in 1997.
