Belgian electronic body music (EBM) band formed in Aarschot in 1981. Long-running lineup: Daniel Bressanutti (samples/programming), Patrick Codenys (keyboards), Jean-Luc De Meyer (vocals), and Richard 23 (vocals/percussion). Pioneers of EBM; their term "electronic body music" was first used by Kraftwerk but defined by Front 242.
Nine studio albums between Geography (1982) and Pulse (2003). Critical peak: Front by Front (1988, featuring "Headhunter") and Tyranny (For You) (1991). The band has been performing live concerts intermittently into the 2020s.
