American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1979. Long-running lineup centered on vocalist Angelo Moore and bassist Norwood Fisher. Genre-fluid sound combining ska, punk, funk, metal, and soul; a foundational influence on subsequent ska-punk, rap-rock, and alternative-rock acts.
Released ten studio albums starting with In Your Face (1986). Critical peak: Truth and Soul (1988) and The Reality of My Surroundings (1991). The 2010 documentary Everyday Sunshine: The Story of Fishbone chronicled the band's history and influence. Continuously active.
