American rock band formed in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1984 (originally as White Heat). Lineup: C.J. Snare (vocals, died 2024), Bill Leverty (guitar), Perry Richardson (bass, 1984-2000), and Michael Foster (drums). Brand of melodic hard rock that arrived in the late 1980s just as grunge was about to displace it.
Six studio albums starting with the self-titled 1990 debut. Commercial peak: FireHouse (1990, double-platinum, featuring "Don't Treat Me Bad" and "Love of a Lifetime") and Hold Your Fire (1992). The band won the 1992 American Music Award for Best New Heavy Metal Band. Snare died in April 2024.
