English rock band formed in Birmingham in 1984. Lineup: Roland Gift (vocals), Andy Cox (guitar), and David Steele (bass). Cox and Steele were previously the rhythm section of The Beat. Distinguished by Gift's distinctive falsetto and the band's fusion of pop, rock, and R&B.
Two studio albums: Fine Young Cannibals (1985) and The Raw & the Cooked (1989). The 1989 follow-up sold over 4 million copies in the US and produced two #1 singles, "She Drives Me Crazy" and "Good Thing." The band has been inactive since the early 1990s.
