Swedish rock band formed in Upplands Väsby in 1979. Long-running lineup: Joey Tempest (vocals), John Norum (guitar, 1979-1986, 2003-present), John Levén (bass), Mic Michaeli (keyboards, since 1984), and Ian Haugland (drums, since 1984).
Eleven studio albums between Europe (1983) and Walk the Earth (2017). Commercial peak: The Final Countdown (1986, multi-platinum, featuring the iconic title track) and Out of This World (1988). The band split in 1992 and reunited in 2003. The title track of The Final Countdown has become a sports-stadium and rock-radio standard.
