Released 24 studio albums during his lifetime, plus dozens of compilation, soundtrack, and live albums. Initial commercial breakthrough on Sun Records (1954) and RCA (1955 onward). Major career arcs include his 1968 "Comeback Special" return after a decade of mostly soundtrack work, and the Las Vegas residency era (1969-1977). Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986.
