American rock band formed in Chicago in 1994 (originally as Brawl). Lineup: David Draiman (vocals), Dan Donegan (guitar), John Moyer (bass, since 2003), and Mike Wengren (drums). One of the most commercially successful American rock acts of the 2000s.
Eight studio albums starting with The Sickness (2000, multi-platinum, featuring "Down with the Sickness"). Subsequent peaks: Believe (2002), Ten Thousand Fists (2005), and Indestructible (2008) — all #1 albums on the Billboard 200. The band took a hiatus from 2011 to 2015 before returning with Immortalized (2015). Their 2015 cover of Simon & Garfunkel's "The Sound of Silence" became a viral hit.
