American guitarist born February 21, 1943, in Glendale, California. Pioneer of "fuzz guitar" rock — distorted, instrumental garage rock that became the signature sound of late-1960s American "biker films." His band Davie Allan and the Arrows scored many of the era's exploitation films.
Released numerous albums between The Wild Angels soundtrack (1966) and recent releases. Best-known recordings include "Blue's Theme" (1966), "Apache '65," and "Devil's Angels." Continues to record and perform sporadically; has remained a touchstone for surf-rock and garage-rock revivalists.
