Commercial breakthrough came with his 1979 self-titled debut, which won the Grammy for Album of the Year, Record of the Year ("Sailing"), Song of the Year, and Best New Artist — a four-Grammy sweep no other artist had previously accomplished in a single night.
Released 12 studio albums between 1979 and 2017. Commercial peak singles: "Ride Like the Wind" and "Sailing" (1980), and "Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)" from the 1981 film Arthur (which won the Academy Award for Best Original Song).
