English doom metal band formed in Coventry in 1989 by Lee Dorrian (vocals, formerly of Napalm Death) and Garry "Gaz" Jennings (guitar). Pioneers of the British doom metal revival alongside Paradise Lost and My Dying Bride.
Ten studio albums between Forest of Equilibrium (1991) and The Last Spire (2013). Best-known releases include The Ethereal Mirror (1993) and Endtyme (2001). Dorrian founded Rise Above Records (which has released material by Orange Goblin, Electric Wizard, and many others). The band performed a farewell tour in 2013.
