American country band formed in Nashville in 1993. Lineup: Chuck Mead (vocals/guitar), Gary Bennett (vocals/guitar, 1993-2001), Smilin' Jay McDowell (bass, 1993-1999), Don Herron (steel guitar/fiddle), and Hawk Shaw Wilson (drums). Distinguished by their honky-tonk and Western swing throwback aesthetic; named after a phone number from the Hee Haw TV show.
Five studio albums between Live from Robert's (1996) and Tangled in the Pines (2001). The band built a substantial following through long-running residencies at the Nashville bar Robert's Western World. Disbanded in 2006.
