American performance art collective founded in New York City in 1987 by Chris Wink, Matt Goldman, and Phil Stanton. Performers appear painted blue and bald (using latex skullcaps) and rarely speak; the act combines percussion-driven music, comedy, and audience interaction.
Released four studio albums starting with Audio (1999), which received a Grammy nomination. Subsequent albums include The Complex (2003, featuring Tracy Bonham, Dave Matthews, and Esthero), How to Be a Megastar Live! (2008), and Three (2016). Long-running theatrical residencies in Las Vegas, New York, Boston, Chicago, Orlando, Berlin, and elsewhere.
