American singer-songwriter and pianist born May 9, 1949, in The Bronx, New York. One of the best-selling recording artists in US history with over 150 million albums sold worldwide.
Thirteen studio albums between Cold Spring Harbor (1971) and River of Dreams (1993). After 1993, Joel stopped recording original pop albums but has continued to tour extensively, performing residencies at Madison Square Garden (2014-2024) and various venues worldwide. Commercial peak releases: The Stranger (1977), 52nd Street (1978), Glass Houses (1980), An Innocent Man (1983), and Storm Front (1989). Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999.
