American synth-pop band formed in Orange County, California in 1979. Long-running lineup centered on Terri Nunn (vocals) and John Crawford (bass). Other key members included David Diamond (keyboards) and Rick Olsen (guitar).
Five studio albums between Pleasure Victim (1982) and Animal (2013). Commercial peak: Love Life (1984), the soundtrack single "Take My Breath Away" from Top Gun (1986, which won the Academy Award for Best Original Song), and Count Three & Pray (1986). The band dissolved in 1987 and reformed under Nunn in the late 1990s.
