American grindcore band formed in Newton, Massachusetts in 1988 by Seth Putnam (vocals, died 2011). Known for deliberately offensive lyrics, extremely short song lengths (often under 30 seconds), and minimal instrumentation. Frequently censored their name to "AxCx" in promotional contexts.
Eight studio albums and over 30 EPs/splits starting with Everyone Should Be Killed (1994). The band's controversial humor and Putnam's frequent provocations defined their reception. Putnam died in 2011 of a heart attack; the band has been formally dissolved since.
