English guitarist born December 21, 1943, in Herefordshire. Considered one of the most influential country and rockabilly guitarists in history — known for his hybrid-picking technique and Telecaster mastery. Worked extensively as both a sideman and bandleader.
Released over a dozen solo studio albums starting with Hiding (1979). As a sideman, performed and recorded with Emmylou Harris (Hot Band, 1974-1978), the Crickets, Eric Clapton (1978-1984), Ricky Skaggs, Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings, and many others. Two Grammy Awards.
