98 Degrees — American boy band formed in Los Angeles in 1996. Lineup: Nick Lachey, Drew Lachey (brothers), Jeff Timmons, and Justin Jeffre. Distinguished from contemporary boy bands by writing portions of their own material and avoiding the Lou Pearlman / Backstreet Boys / NSYNC management pipeline.
Four studio albums in the original run: 98 Degrees (1997), 98 Degrees and Rising (1998), Revelation (2000), and the Christmas album This Christmas (1999). Best-known singles include "Because of You," "The Hardest Thing," "I Do (Cherish You)," and "Thank God I Found You" (with Mariah Carey). Reunited in 2012 and have continued touring intermittently.
