I am all in the spirit of helping my fellow man in downtrodden times. It is more of an obligation than charity in my eyes. With that said it can still make your blood boil to see that your tax dollars are buying some lazy idiot a lapdance.

The upcoming J.J. Abrams film, Super 8 (Shot almost entirely in Weirton, WV) has a new has a new poster for it’s Japanese release.
If only the US release poster featured my old neighborhood half as much as this one did, I would be very happy. At the current moment, there is not too much that is instantly recognizable as Weirton in the US Poster.
The landmark first birthday holds a lot of new things and changes for every child. One of the most monumental is the first haircut. We took Preston for his first yesterday and he took it like a champ. Momma misses the curls, but he really does look like a little boy now.
Apparently, the region that I live in now how the distinction of being the worst death/birth rate in the country.
Over two years to be exact, since the the last time that I made a post in this blog. A lot has changed since then (jobs, baby, etc) and I finally feel the need to write again. So … Let is consider this a proclamation that I promise to post more here in the coming days, weeks, months and years.
In just three more days, I will be a married man. My nerves have been pretty good as of late, but this morning I woke up feeling a little different. I think a lot of it is just starting to sink in.
I can’t wait for it all to happen!
I remember over holiday break watching a bowl game that put to shame any sporting event that I have ever seen in my life. In the 2006 Fiesta Bowl, Boise State came back against all odds and pulled off one of the biggest upsets and comebacks at the same time. Post game, I thought that it may have been the best game (any sport) that I have ever seen and the people I worked with agreed with me.
Fast forward to this past weekend, when the NFL draft welcomed many college stars to the next level of sport. The only problem was … the person who orchestrated this comeback, Jared Zabransky, never heard his name called.
It would be one thing if this was one fluke game in a career riddled with mediocrity, but it wasn’t. Jared was a solid gunslinger throughout his college career and put Boise State on the football map.
At the end of the day, the Houston Texans signed Jared Zabransky as an undrafted free agent.
